Reading Time: 2 minutes

Welcome to my little corner of the Internet, where I aim to cultivate a safe place where thoughts are remixed, lives are changed, and we all laugh and cry, tho not collectively at the same time… unless this is a book club reading.

So, it goes without saying that basically, you entered my house. And like any house, there are rules you need to follow to keep the host happy and the other guests peachy.

So, let’s get to it:

Keep the comments relevant to the post.

This one should be a gimme, but I’ll go into a tad bit of details. It’s simple really… go off-topic, I might warn you. Go too off-topic and then I’ll have to delete it. I hate deleting. It takes time out of my day. Just keep it within the confines of the conversation to keep remixers happy (especially the one who is blogging).

Original thoughts only (or at least provide a source).

If you’re copying and pasting thoughts, you’re not helping. If you’re referencing something, please have a link.

Free-range thoughts help produce results.

Don’t be a jerk… or evil… or a combination of both.

Personal attacks and harassment will not be tolerated. Sexist, racist, misogynist, homophobic, and broad, offensive generalizations about groups of people… especially my people… are simply not allowed. Comments or discussions written intentionally to provoke will also be removed.

(And if you do it repeatedly, my ban hand is strong.)

No (excessive) cursing, please.

I don’t mind cursing. But there are such things as being too colorful. Human expression can be verbalized with a wide range of words. Just don’t stick to sounding like this…

No self-promotion (unless it’s relevant to the conversation)

The only self-promotion you get is a link within your profile. After that, you don’t get to do much of it unless you’re linking to something you said somewhere else. If there’s a self-promo post, tho… knock yourself out.

English only.

I’m sorry. The education system in America undermines the value of learning more than one language and the general public here shames us for attempting to do such a thing. Unless you’re White and you travel the world, then you’re cute and deserving of things like more money and time. Go figure.

Long story short, I’m not saying “don’t speak Spanish, Russian or German”, just don’t speak in the comments. I can’t spend time wondering if you’re doing it to get a rise out of people, so don’t do it.
